Valentine’s Day is today, Happy Valentine’s Day 💚

In Mexico they celebrate the day of love and friendship. A day to appreciate all those you love. The Bible speaks of different kinds of love; Godly love, physical love, brotherly love. It talks about loving God and loving others.

The Bible explains how to love people, too. A simple idea really. Easy peasy, right? But, have you met people? There are some genuinely angry folks out there. Not everyone seems lovable but those are generally the people who need loved the most. This makes me think, what does love look like? How can I be loving others as God would?

God talks about how to love others in His Word. Seemingly simple stuff, like:

• honor one another (Rom12:10)

• don’t talk badly about others (Psm 141:3)

• show hospitality (Heb 13:2)

• love your neighbor (Mark 12:31)

Easy, right? Some things are easier said than done for me. Sometimes it is hard to love that person standing next to me. I fail a lot. This is where grace comes in. Grace with others and with myself. For me, the point is to keep trying. Keep trying to love as God would. Loving people where they are at.

On this day of love, I am thankful for all the friendships I have in my life. Thankful for the grace people extend me when I fail to love them as they deserve. And thankful God allows me to keep trying to be more like Him each day.
